Despite various challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, JICA Project for AUN/SEED-Net is delighted that the 13th Regional Conference on Chemical Engineering 2020 (RCChE-2020) Jointly held with the 5th International symposium on Conservation and Management of Tropical Lakes and Asia Pacific network for Global Change Research, was successfully organized online during February 4-5, 2021. This is the last Regional Conference of Japanese Fiscal Year 2020.
Hosted by the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) through Zoom platform, the virtual conference attracted over 230 participants from around the world. The two-day event was packed with fruitful discussions and enthusiastic knowledge exchanges under the theme “Insights and Challenges toward Achieving SDGs”.
The Opening Ceremony celebrated the presence and speeches from Dr. Chantha Oeurng, Deputy Director of ITC, Ms. KAMEI Haruko, Chief Representative, JICA Cambodia office, and Prof. Emeritus Dr. UEDA Tamon Chief Advisor and Acting Executive Director, JICA Project for AUN/SEED-Net. Followed by keynote lecture sessions and parallel sessions, which were divided into four sub-topics: Chemical Engineering, Environment, Lake Environment, and Food Technology and Microbiology.
JICA Project for AUN/SEED-Net would like to congratulate and express our deep gratitude towards ITC and the organizing committee for materializing this virtual conference into reality. It is truly our dream comes true to witness this, as the conference reflects that we all stay connected and sustain our valuable network, no matter what obstacles lie ahead.
