
The Fourth Periodic Meeting of the Collaborative Education Program for Sustainable Environmental Engineering Network (CEP-SEEN)
On May 20, 2021, as the main coordinator of the consortium, the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur, successfully conducted its fourth periodic meeting through an online platform to report on its achievements over the past six months, the implementation plan for the next six months, and the contingency plan to cope with foreseeable future risks.
The meeting resulted in several fruitful discussions among the partners; MJIIT, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), University of Tsukuba (UT), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. (NK), and Indah Water Konsortium Sdn. Bhd. (IWK).
The consortium reported on the progress of the scholarship program, production of international conference papers, industrial partner involvement, financial management, and academic events such as the organization of the online publication workshop and joint seminar from Feb 15–17, 2021, and a seminar on “How to Apply for Patent and Copyright through Innocomms System” organized by UTM on March 10, 2021.



Ten scholarship students from Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam are now studying at M-JIIT, Malaysia. Studies continue to be conducted online and the international trip is suspended due to the global pandemic.
The year 2021 is likely to present further challenges and we would like to thank all partners for making impressive progress during the second year of the program and wish the consortium continued success.
