On April 29, 2021, the first kick-off meeting of CEP UTM Future Energy was successfully organized by the School of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (SME-UTM).

CEP Future Energy (Collaborative Education Program on Biomass and Solar Renewable Energy System – Future Energy for the ASEAN Region), led by the SME-UTM, launched a kick-off meeting in the presence of all partners: the Department of Physical Science and Engineering, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan (NITECH), Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MIE-UGM), School of Electrical Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (SEE-HUST), with MyBamboo Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) representing the private sector.

The meeting concluded with a fruitful discussion on the planning and progress of the implementation. The program will consist of Master’s degree courses in renewable energy conversion systems, device integration, biomass energy, and solar energy generation. Any Master’s student has the potential to participate in the joint-degree course. All students will be under the joint supervision of UTM, NITech, and MIs depending on the field of their research project.
