The 5th Regional Conference on Natural Disaster(RCND) in conjunction with the International Symposium of the 11th SSMS under the theme “Managing Smart and Resilient Society” was successfully organized by Chulalongkorn University with a great supported by AUN/SEED-Net and Kochi University of Technology, Japan. Our conference was held at Swissotel Le Concorde located in Bangkok’s new thriving central district during 20-21 September 2017, which had attracted approximate 150 participants from member institutions’ students, young researchers, concerned planners, engineers, social scientists, practitioners and other public and private sectors to participate, share and exchange academic findings, knowledge and experiences in the regional and international wide levels. Our fruitful panel discussions were launched and had engaged lots of audiences’ attention and interaction while this time it was a very great honor to have five resourceful keynote speakers attending in the event. First was Prof. Yasuto TACHIKAWA from Kyoto University, second was Dr. Bharat Dahiya from Chulalongkorn University, third was Prof. Ravi Sinha from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, fourth was Prof. Yasushi KIYOKI from Keio University and lastly the fifth person was President of CAT Telecom Public Company Limited, Thailand.
In parallel with panel discussions, the 5th Field Management Meeting was also conducted on the second day of the conference, discussion previous and current performance of our project together with leading the future direction of filed activities in Phase IV.
