On December 1–2, 2021, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), with the support of AUN/SEED-Net, held the 14th AUN/SEED-Net Regional Conference on Materials in conjunction with the 4th International Postgraduate Conference on Materials, Minerals, and Polymer. The focus of the event this year was “Development of emerging, novel, and advanced materials with superior functionalities in design, production, and fundamental understanding”.
The aim of the event was to provide an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary platform for the exchange of current innovations, issues, and global challenges faced in the field of emerging materials. As a result, the conference attracted the participation of local and international academics, scientists, researchers, engineers, managers, product developers, business leaders, and professionals from all over the world. More than a hundred manuscripts were presented, along with five keynotes from distinguished speakers at leading universities in the ASEAN and Japan as well as resourceful persons from renowned industries, including Petronas and RGS Corporation Sdn. Bhd.
Prof. Emeritus Tamon UEDA, Acting Executive Director and Chief Advisor, JICA Project for AUN/SEED-Net also delivered his opening remarks. He expressed his appreciation toward USM, who continuously portrayed themselves as a leading, advanced, and reciprocal Member Institution, especially in the field of Materials Engineering.
