
The 10th AUN/SEED-Net Regional Conference on Geological and Geo-Resource Engineering was organized successfully by Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 2-3 August 2017 under the theme “Towards Education and Environmentally Sustainable Development of Geo-resources in ASEAN Community”. Around 100 participants from Member institutions in ASEAN and Japan including from universities, organizations and private sectors attended the event. The plenary session was kicked off by leading speakers from the academia, Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) of Cambodia and experts from well-known private sectors who gave an interesting lecture on aspects and advanced technologies towards the sustainability of Geo-Resources. Then, it was followed by lot of marvelous presentations in parallel session, regarding the insight of the field of Geological and Geo-Resource Engineering while also served as a platform for knowledge exchange and networking among regional community and Japan. The keynote and parallel sessions attracted a number of audiences with interesting presentations, fruitful discussions and knowledge sharing. In this regards, the 6th Field Management Meeting (FMM) was also held to discuss the operation and future direction of field activities. The participants of FMM were representatives of ASEAN Host Institutions, Japanese Field Supporting Universities and AUN/SEED-Net Secretariat. The meeting also jointly convened with the Kick-off Meeting Cambodian Association for Geo-resources and Materials (CAGM) arranged by Department of Geo-resources and Geotechnical Engineering (GGE), Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC).
