During February 10-12, 2019, AUN/SEED-Net has successfully conducted a monitoring session at De La Salle University (DLSU) and University of the Philippines Diliman (UP) in Manila, the Philippines. The purpose of this visit was to meet and discuss with the ongoing students under AUN/SEED-Net scholarships regarding their study progress and living situations.
Currently, there are a total of 11 students (4 PhD and 7 Master’s) studying under AUN/SEED-Net scholarship programs in the Philippines. The students are from 5 Sending Countries including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The outputs of the discussion would lead AUN/SEED-Net to thoroughly evaluate and address any possible difficulties, and consequently set strategies and plans to provide efficient support and assistance that the students need not only for completing their studies but also for them to be able to adapt and enjoy the new social environment and cultural setting.
Along with the student progress report, meeting students at their Host Institutions is one of the most effective and vital monitoring tools that can provide in-depth and updated information useful for assessing the supports students need to complete their studies within scholarship period while ensuring their well-being in their Host Country.
