Abstract:

This research aims to implement the bioengineering technology for increasing hill slope stability. The study emphasises on employing the vetiver as well as diverse vegetation to increase the soil strength on shallow failure plane. The research will be conducted for fundamental understanding of root-soil-water interactions which consist of laboratory experiments and modelling. The research will also collaborate with the industrial section to validate the bioengineering concept to the real field. The site investigation and field instrumentation and monitoring will actual implemented to the sites across the country.
