The project utilizes visible light communications (VLC) as a safe and cost effective method to provide both light and data transmission at the same time. Improved modulation techniques for VLC using OLED were investigated. Furthermore, additional issues such as flicker and dimming support of OLED were measured and improved. Several academic articles were published as well as a prototype VLC system using OLED was realized. For the first time, real-time transmission data rate at around 20 times the OLED bandwidth at 40 cm was demonstrated. Better equipment was available for future research. Better opportunities for students and staffs exchange in the future. Provide prototype for future VLC using OLED, which is a part of the nextgeneration network (5G)
