On 5 September 2016, AUN/SEED-Net Secretariat visited Kasetsart University (KU) to conduct a meeting with one on-going student and two new students under Environmental engineering field.
The session led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kasem Choocharukul, AUN/SEED-Net Assistant Executive Director, students from Cambodia and Laos shared experiences on their livings, studies and thesis update. The comments were later discussed with KU faculty staff for better understanding and further improvement of students’ study progress.
In the afternoon, the secretariat utilized this visit to conduct a face-to-face interview with one researcher awarded with AUN/SEED-Net research grants, Asst. Prof. Dr. Miti Ruchanurucks. He was awarded for Collaborative Research on Common Regional Issues (CRC) program in 2015. His research title is “Burn Area Ratio Approximation System Using Computer Vision Techniques Based on Inexpensive Sensors of Kinect”. He kindly updated his current research status and the tentative future plan of his research project. In addition, he also suggested the possible idea how to improve project implementation to AUN/SEED-Net secretariat.
The university visits are conducted annually in all Host Institutions in ASEAN. The main objectives are to meet current and new students as well as their advisors to update study progress and to share information of AUN/SEED-Net programs.
