Abstract:
Landslide disasters have occurred and caused many houses collapsed and cracked. Residents living there have to evacuate to temporary areas supported by local government. In order to reduce damages of assets and costs of lives, mechanism of landslide hazard need to be investigated and assessed. At the same period, an effective early warning system for predicting landslide disasters will also be developed with cheap price and easy to be installed and managed. The need of industry is to expand the early warning system to all the greater Mekong Sub-region to minimize the cost easy to be managed. When the research project has been finished, our research team hopes that we can understand the mechanism of landslide disasters in highland areas clearly and propose disaster prevention and mitigation approaches effectively, especially in the Greater Mekong Subregions. The academic network will be stronger for our team and other close younger researchers in the fields of GeoDisasters and Natural Disasters 4 undergraduate students and 3 graduate students from Vietnam and Japan will benefit from this research project. These students will have the chance to involve the project and to work with Japanese and Vietnamese professors, experts, provincial governmental officials, local residents and industries. These researchers have the chance to work and cooperate with each other together The technical reports that provide tools and recommendations to provincial governments in Bao Loc City, Lam Dong Province and other regions to mitigate and prevent landslide disaster effectively.
Useful information will be provided to emergency warning and evacuation system for local community in the landslide risk area.
Local construction companies will improve their effective countermeasure technology to design and construct structures to prevent landslide disasters.
Industrial field will benefit from calibrating the approaches, tools, and instruments with high accuracy. These instruments will be developed and sell to the Greater Mekong Subregions with cheaper price.
