On November 21, 2017, a monitoring and orientation visit was conducted at Room 702, 7th floor, Rector Office, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology (KMITL). For 2017 intake, there are 4 new students enrolling under Computer and Information Engineering; 2 from Cambodia and 2 from Myanmar.
During the visit at KMITL led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kasem Choocharukul, AUN/SEED-Net Assistant Executive Director, new and existing students from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam shared experiences on their livings, studies and thesis update. The comments were later discussed with faculty staff for better understanding and further improvement of student’s study progress. In addition, financial regulations and guidelines were explained to students, advisors, and university staff for effective use of the fund for their research and study support.
The university monitoring visit is conducted annually in all Host Institutions in ASEAN, in which KMILT is one of them. The main objectives are to meet current and new students as well as their advisors and faculty staff to update students’ study progress, share information from AUN/SEED-Net programs, and to facilitate the study of students and research of advisors. In addition, especially in 2017, which is the last year of the project Phase III, the future of the project was also shared and discussed between KMITL and AUN/SEED-Net for continuous cooperation after Phase III.
