Abstract:

Metamorphic rocks retain information of tectonic conditions in some areas by the study of its mineral compositions. Metamorphic rocks occupy in Central Indonesia terranes including Kalimantan, Jawa and Sulawesi. The purposes of this collaborative research program are estimates geochronology (age) of metamorphic rocks from Central Indonesia and its contribution for tectonic conditions. Metamorphic rock samples and analyse using most advance petrology laboratories and facilities in Kyushu University (XRF, SEM FE-EPMA, LA-ICP-MS and LA-MC-ICP-MS). The occurrence of metamorphic rocks in eastern and western part of Indonesia region are also provide important meaning for understanding plate movement, metamorphic evolution, and geological history of Indonesia as background and basic science of other applied geological study in Indonesia region. Collaboration with Kyushu University give opportunity to research using advance technology in geoscience to provide high quality data. Research group can get new finding geoscience data and opportunity to expand the topic research to be more advance and get international acknowledgement. The student also can get opportunity to experience high quality research foundation and get good data. New metamorphic evolution and geochronology data have been published in several journal and conference. Those made major changes, new finding and implication on the interpretation of background geology (tectonic setting) in Central Indonesia. The georesearchers who willing to work in Indonesia should consider to this results in every background applied geoscience in particularly economic geology.
