Abstract:
Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) aims to boost up the driver, vehicle, and road users safety. Several techniques can be performed, for example by simplifying the driving process and reducing any source of the driver distraction and poor-attention which often give rise to accidents. By utilizing the ADAS support, drivers and passengers are able to wish a safer driving, reducing and avoiding any possible deadly accidents. Advanced Driver Assistance System researches have a broad and vast range of applications, such as Forward Collision Warning, Road Detection, Lane Tracking, Lane Marking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Cross Traffic Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Electronic Parking Assistance, Traffic Jam Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Road Curve Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Treats Forecasting. Of course, it is difficult to cover all applications in a single research program. In this proposed research project, we aim to build an aid system for the driver to have a better understanding about the surrounding conditions on the road. Here, the road scene understanding means how the system is able to characterize the road and its surrounding condition such as the other cars, bikes, pedestrian, traffics, and etc.
It can strengthen the network between UGM and Toyohashi University of Technology, especially, through joint research and student exchange There are significant increasing of the total student number, entering my research group We expect to built a system which can be used by industries, in terms of safety driving assistance
