With the motto “Plant the SEED of Future, grow ASEAN-JAPAN Network for Sustainability,” the JICA Project for AUN/SEED-Net believes in planting the seeds of collaboration in engineering education between the ASEAN and Japan. It is our honor to have CEP-WATER as one of our resources to boost growth.
On May 27, 2021, CEP-WATER, led by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia UTM, successfully organized a kick-off meeting between consortium members and stakeholders, including Kobe University, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Prince of Songkla University, Kasui Techno Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Kubota Kasui Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.), and JICA Project for AUN/SEED-Net. The purpose of the meeting was to spark a fruitful discussion and build a clear roadmap to achieve the ultimate goals: to develop intellectual, practical, and professional skills in critical acquisition, analysis, interpretation, and understanding of environmental engineering principles and issues, specifically on water and wastewater treatment, and develop new membrane-based technologies and practices to ensure water pollution mitigation for the benefit of human health and the environment. By the end of the project, CEP-WATER expects to have at least six Master’s scholars participating in the environmental engineering program with joint activities for consortium members, consisting of a mobility program, joint supervision, joint seminar/specialized workshops, and joint publications.
During the meeting, consortium members updated each other on their profiles and current research projects related to the field. The new intake scholars were invited to express their feelings and study plans after enrolling in the consortium’s scholarship program. CEP-WATER provided the meeting with a visual map for monitoring goals and expectations while guiding consortium members through each project stage. With the use of visual processes and an intuitive diagram platform, AUN/SEED-Net is confident CEP-WATER will keep the members and stakeholders engaged, updated, and on track to achieve and exceed the project’s goals
Under the Collaborative Education Program for the Japanese fiscal year 2021, CEP-Water was awarded budget support for 11 months until February 2022. AUN/SEED-Net looks forward to a long-lasting collaboration with CEP-Water. Please stay tuned for more updates!
