On 3-4 July 2017, the 4th JASTIP Symposium was organized by JASTIP and co-organized by NSTDA, Thailand and LIPI, Indonesia. The symposium was entitled “Biomass to Energy, Chemicals and Functional Materials” with regard to biorefinery research, which is an interdisciplinary research field beyond energy & environmental research, and bioresources & biodiversity research. The purpose of this symposium was to provide a forum for local and international stakeholders from university, research institutes and private sectors to disseminate and share information and knowledge for promoting the business and social implementation in this field through JASTIP platform.

AUN/SEED-Net as the project focusing on region-wide system for advanced research and education in Engineering was invited to join the event. The project information regarding scholarships, research funding support programs, mobility support programs and ASEAN Engineering Journal were introduced to the participants. The event attracted more than 200 participants. Numbers of guests visited AUN/SEED-Net’s booth to acquire the information and express the interest in the project’s activities.
