
“Japan ASEAN Collaborative Education Program” or JACEP Consortium members officially met for the first time in Kuala Lumpur on April 29th and 30th. Participants of this significant kick-off meeting included representatives from Universiti Malaya (UM), Kyoto University (KU), Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), Yangon Technological University (YTU), Can Tho University, National University of Laos (NUOL), University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD), and Daikin Research and Development.
The consortium offers scholarships for Double Degree program in Master of Renewable Energy, which will jointly be managed by Universiti Malaya and Kyoto University. Students will spend 3 semesters at UM and 2 semesters at KU, and will be awarded 2 degree certificates from both Host Institutions. During the program, the scholars can enjoy an exceptional and diverse learning experience through visiting lecturers from other partner universities. As CEP awardees, students not only get to reap results from the outstanding academic benefits, but will also get a hands-on and empirical experiences through industry integrated research projects. A number of international workshops and conference will take place in partner countries throughout the 4-year implementation as well.
