Abstract

More than 3000 kilometers of coastline from north to south and a dense network of rivers, Vietnam has many favorable conditions for industry by sea transport.
Therefore, every year, a ship must re-built 10 exhaust valves. Since Vinalines company has 250 ships, they have to recover 2500 exhaust valve (250 x 10 = 2500) in a year. Previously, domestic companies have hired foreign companies to re-build exhaust valve with cost of one thousand dollars on one product. Thus Vinalines company consuming about US$2,5 million every year. However, according to the team’s calculations, if it could be done with the domestic recovery, the price is only about 60% compared with the recovery in overseas which will save about US$1 million each year. From the above analysis showing that the project “”Research and recovery of exhaust valve surface in internal combustion component by plasma transferred arc welding technology is highly feasible and has a great practical significance and will be benefits for Vietnamese Industry. Practical problem solving capacity increase of research staffs in industry Create opportunities and conditions for the asymptotic local scientists with advanced research in the world Reduce costs and the number of imported valve, creating more investment opportunities for domestic enterprises.
Reduce the adverse effects affecting workers in the welding process by using advanced welding equipment.
