The 12th AUN/SEED-Net Regional Conference on Environmental Engineering 2019 (RCEnvE2019) in conjunction with the 6th Environmental Technology and Management Conference “Towards a Smart Green Innovations for a Safe, Resilient, and Sustainable Environment” was successfully held by Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) on November 5-7, 2019 at Prime Plaza Hotel, Sanur – Bali, Indonesia.

More than 200 participants from various institutions including Ministry of Environmental and Forestry, Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Water Resources, ASEAN Universities, Japanese Universities, Industrial sectors, JICA Indonesia Office, and other elite universities around the world gathered at the conference. With their dreams towards better environment, the participants eagerly discussed and shared knowledge on innovative technologies, policies and new directions in infrastructure development, pollution prevention, and eco-friendly technologies in plenary and parallel session throughout the first two days of the conference.

On the third day, all participants were invited to join a full-day technical tour to learn about environmental issues from several research fields in Bali. Highlights of the visit were Sarbagita Landfill, the biggest landfill with a total area of 32.34ha and Suwung Wastewater, the main waste water treatment with 51,0000 m3/day capacity built in 10ha areas.

As the participants were surrounded by supportive people in productive work environment, the initiative for further collaboration and networking in addressing infrastructure and build environment issues for sustainability was launched.  It was such a delightful sight that AUN/SEED-Net would like to express our highest appreciation to all authors and participants for sharing sufficient knowledge and the hoping to start potential collaborations towards better environment.
